A core mission of my work is community outreach and involvement. As a teaching artist, I enjoy visiting students at their schools to talk about comics and teach them the skills to write and draw their own comics. I have been invited to lead comics and cartooning workshops at elementary schools and public libraries in Alaska, Washington, Ohio, Indiana, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts.

Community Events
Bringing comics and cartooning to the community is something that I love to do. In the past few years I have attended many community events doing live drawings, cartooning games, and mural painting. Some of the events are independent, while others are with the Eastside Sketch Society, a creative community group that brings art to the Eastside King County communities of Issaquah, Bellevue, Redmond, Auburn, Maple Valley, Kent, North Bend, and Snoqualmie.
I have also presented zines at art summits and live poem readings.
