Do you know a creative kid who loves manga and comics and dreams of making their own, but doesn\u2019t know where to start? Then this is the exciting comics class for you! Together, students will learn how to bring their characters, stories, and worlds to life- one panel at a time! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

From silly superheroes to slice-of-life adventures, students will explore how to write, draw, and design their very own comic pages. In this class, we\u2019ll cover:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Visual storytelling <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Character designs and expressions <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 The word balloons, sound effects, and layouts that build a comic <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whether your child loves graphic novels, doodles in the margins, or dreams of becoming an illustrator, this class gives them the tools and confidence to tell their stories their way. All levels welcome\u2014no fancy drawing skills required, just imagination and a sense of humor! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Join teacher Kat Klockow, a professional cartoonist and comic book editor with over a decade of industry experience. She is also a member of the American Library Association\u2019s Graphic Novel and Comics Round Table. Kat teaches comics and cartooning classes at the Issaquah Community Center through Happy Time Studio. <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next session dates are April 4th, 11th, and 25th, 2026.<\/strong> There are two classes to choose from, 11AM -12PM<\/a> and 12-1PM.<\/a> You do not need to be a resident of Issaquah to sign up for classes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
