This weekend on the Paranormal View we have John Maxwell of Headstone Healers as our guest.

20130921-John-Maxwell

A little note on what Headstone Healers of Indiana does:

Headstone Healers of Indiana was co-founded by John Maxwell & Tracy Wilson. While doing research in Owen County, Indiana, we noticed in many of the cemeteries we went to, there was a lot of headstones that had fallen, broken, or covered in growth. Our mission is to clean, repair, photograph, & map these final resting places and help restore the headstones back to their former condition. In doings so we want to make sure all Military headstones/markers are in respectable condition. We never charge for working on Military headstone/markers and cover our cost by putting all donations and profits from work done on personal headstones in that fund. We appreciate your support in our endeavors hope you keep coming back for updates on our progress. –http://headstonehealersofindiana.weebly.com/

Come and Enjoy the show from 8-10PM Eastern time on http://para-x.com/

Strange Voice caught on air…

20130817-Area-51

On last week’s episode of the Paranormal View radio show, something very strange happened. The topic of last week’s show as the recently revealed Area 51, near the end of our 2 hour long show we had Patrick McCormick, who had been a member of the US Air Force, talk about his thoughts on the news and friends experience with directing flight traffic around Area 51 and working inside the facility. During his interview, we encountered Direct Voice Phenomena (DVP)…

I will note that I did have friends over, however they were in another room at the other end of my house, and because of them being here during the show time, my mic was muted most of the time (helped to keep their random bouts of laughter out).

Patrick is introduced to the show at 1:49:00, but the DVP comes up at 1:54:00 on the show. http://theparanormalview.podomatic.com/entry/2013-08-17T19_24_51-07_00

It’s truly mysterious as to whose voice we picked up. Could have been a error by Skype, accidental bleed-through from the line? It only happened once (on this show). It isn’t an unfamiliar event however, many times when we have psychics on the show doing readings we get odd interference or Direct Voice Phenomena.

Join us every Saturday night on the Paranormal View from 8-10PM EST at http://para-x.com/

Hannah House Paranormal Meet & Greet 2013 recap

by Kat on August 13, 2013 at 11:41 am
Posted In: Events, Paranormal Exploration

Although weather forecasters initially said that Saturday in Indianapolis was going to be a rainy one, thankfully it wasn’t for this year’s Hannah House paranormal meet and greet! This was the seventh year for the event, and {at least} the third one that I’ve been to.

In Nomine Paranormal Research team were kind enough to share some tent space with me during Saturday’s event. I arrived shortly after they did at 11AM with Paranormal Pup Wheatley, who immediately stole the show with is calm yet friendly demeanor.

Notable people at this year’s event: Rosalyn Bown {SyFy’s Ghost Hunters Academy member} who drove all the way from New Jersey to attend, Keith Age {the “Rock’n’Roll ghost hunter and star of the Spooked documentary series}, my mentor Wanda Lou Willis {paranormal author and retired folklore professor}, and Troy Taylor {nationally known paranormal author}. Dan T. Hall, who directed Ghost Stories 4, the paranormal documentary I was in, was also there with Wanda Lou.

Over the course of the day I got to see many new faces, generally people from the Indianapolis area that had an interest in the paranormal and decided to check this event out. One person that comes to mind was Bill, a gentleman who said he always had an interest in the paranormal but found it difficult to discuss with others who did not carry such an interest. He was delighted to see that the paranormal enthusiast community was holding the meet and greet and open to listening to his experiences! Paranormal enthusiasts want to socialize just as much as any other hobbyist group, that is why most ghost hunting teams were put together in the past, I think.

Enjoy some of the photo highlights of this past weekend’s paranormal meet & greet! {Because I am all about the photos!}969826_10103122239548779_1077513564_n

I want to thank everyone who came by the table on Saturday, especially people I haven’t been able to see in a good year or more like Angi and Claude! It was another great paranormal meet & greet, and I look forward to next year’s!

Hannah House Paranormal Meet & Greet 2013

by Kat on August 8, 2013 at 7:47 pm

It’s that time of year again, time for the annual Hannah House paranormal meet & greet on the very haunted Hannah House estate in Indianapolis, Indiana! This year, the meet & greet is the only “guest” appearance that I am making, but I’m bring paranormal pup Wheatley along for the ride!

hannah house event

Personally, I love this event! It is a great opportunity for those who are curious about the paranormal or have paranormal teams to come out and meet a lot of the other active teams, paranormal and horror authors, and radio shows that are across Indiana!

To add some fun, Wheatley and I are mentioned in the online newspaper, the Examiner’s, article about the upcoming event: http://www.examiner.com/article/the-7th-annual-paranormal-meet-greet-is-upon-us

Come on out and enjoy the fun at this year’s Hannah House paranormal meet & greet! Also listen to the Paranormal View later that evening, our guest is paranormal author and storyteller Thomas Freese!

Cheers,

Kat

The MidSouth ParaCon recap post!

by Kat on August 5, 2013 at 9:40 pm

Man, this weekend flew by quickly! It is already Monday evening, and since I am needing a break from today’s illustration work, I thought that a change of gears and writing would be a good thing to do!

I would say that there were an estimated 300-500 people at this weekend’s MidSouth Paranormal Convention. It is a cozy convention, purely devoted to the topic of the paranormal! In my previous post I had a photo with all the guests who were invited to speak or run panels this year, 32 in all, and even Henry and I attempted to broadcast the Paranormal View live from the convention- something local WiFi failed to let us do.

We arrived Friday afternoon to an already buzzing MidSouth convention, although there weren’t any guest speakers that night. It was a time to browse around and meet the guests and other attendees. Starting at 8PM going until whenever (I ducked out at 11PM) there was a party in the ballroom where the paranormal rock group the Orb Tones played. Members of the Orb Tones are all involved in the paranormal field somehow, Keith Age the founder of Louisville Ghost Hunters Society, is also the leader of the band that has featured Bill Bean, Jeff Belanger, Patrick Burns, and Trish Yancy in the past.

Saturday morning Henry and I had an mini adventure visiting Wickland Home, a mansion built in 1825 where the convention’s official ghost hunt was to be held later that night. Henry and I traveled over there, about a half an hour drive, to check the connection for the wireless air card that Henry had to broadcast the show remotely. Unfortunately, the connection was too slow, so we had to return to Cincinnati to do the show (the hotel’s connection was even worse, if none at all).

Henry and I’s plan B for not doing the show live was instead recording 5 minute interviews with a variety of guests. (Below from top to bottom) Van Reiner the owner of Whispers Estates, Darrel Whismen the caretaker of Poasttown Elementary School, and Rosalyn Bown former cast member of Ghost Hunters Academy (and a good friend of mine!)

Note: Henry is the dude to the right.

(From top to bottom) John Zaffis, current star of the TV show Haunted Collector on the SyFy Channel, Rick Hayes who is a psychic-medium and fellow Para-X Radio Network show host, and “Spooky” Scotty Rorek a psychic-medium, radio show host, and medium in the Spooked documentary series.

interviews part 2

I wish I could have gone to many of the lectures being done during the convention, but doing the recordings kind of killed that.

In the end, MidSouth ParaCon 2013 was a blast! Hope to see it continue to grow in the coming years. One thing that myself and the guests could agree on was that MidSouth always feels like a large high school reunion, meeting friends that you usually don’t get to see but once a year besides keeping up with Facebook posts.

Cheers,

Kat
